Dynamic segmentation significantly improves download performance
It was created as an additional mode for the default (or light) theme. The Dark Theme reduces the brightness emitted by the display, but maintains a minimum color contrast ratio. This helps improve visual ergonomics by reducing eye strain, adjusting brightness to existing lighting conditions, and making the display easier to use in dark environments while saving power. IDM dynamically splits the downloaded file into segments, unlike other download accelerators that split the downloaded file into segments once just before the download process.
IDM minimizes the time needed to negotiate with servers and keeps all connections busy
When a file download starts, it is not clear how many connections may be open. When a new connection arises, IDM finds the largest download segment and splits it in half. Then, a new connection starts downloading the file from the middle of the largest segment of the file. Resuming a Download Internet Download Manager will resume an incomplete download from the point where it was completed. Comprehensive error recovery and update capabilities will restart downloads interrupted or broken due to lost or dropped connections, network problems, computer shutdown, or unexpected power outages.
IDM includes a website spider and crawler
The scheduler’s built-in Internet download manager can connect to the Internet at a specified time, download the files you want, and disconnect or shut down your computer when you’re done.
